Description
The lightweight, quick-drying Equinox Convert Pants are built with a spandex blend for stretch and easy movement during scree field navigation. They shield from the sun with UPF 50+ protection and deflect rain with a water-resistant DWR finish. Ankle zippers make it easy to pull them off over boots, and the zippered thigh pocket holds a GPS, headlamp or other trail necessity.

Finding hiking pants with zippers at the ankles (that don't cost $100+) is somewhat tough, so when I saw these in the $60 range, I jumped on it! I don't understand why all pants that have zip off legs don't have zippers at the ankles too. If they don't, you have to remove your hiking boots to get the legs off! As another person said "DUH"!! I haven't worn these hiking yet, but believe they'll work as great as they feel. They have a little stretch to them and are VERY comfortable. I have older hiking pants that are pretty rough on the skin and don't "give" at all... these have a totally different/softer feel, MUCH better. I wonder if I'll ever wear my older ones again! The pockets at the waist are fairly deep and the thigh/side zip pocket is wider than deep (kind of wraps the outside of your thigh) and is definitely large enough for a cell phone. To me, the only thing lacking in these pants is not having a thigh pocket on both legs! BUT, the ankle zippers are worth a lot more to me than having the 2nd pocket, so no real complaint from me! Having one zip/back pocket is a plus and helps some. For those of you interested, I'm 5 ft 5.5 inches, weigh 130 and the size 8 fit perfectly. After trying them on, I immediately ordered TWO more... I LOVE THESE PANTS!!Love these pants, although they are a bit short for my 35" inseam. Finally found perfect convertible pants for hiking. They actually have a sturdy lightweight zipper so it does not feel uncomfortable, and an opening at the ankle so you do not have to stop and take your boots off to change them into shorts. They run pretty true to size, the 8 fits well but and I want to get a size 10 to have a little more room for bending and climbing but cannot find anywhere. I am sad :). I tried on about 20 pairs of other more expensive brands that were ridiculous and not made for hiking at all. Most had no Zips or Velcro at the ankle which makes no sense at all. Others had a big heavy Zipper at the knee and it was uncomfortable and ridiculous. Highly recommend I just wish they came in tall and I could find a size 10!I had been hoping to find a nice pair of convertible hiking pants with ample pocket space. I like having a deep cargo pocket for my phone and then secure back pockets for other items. The good: These pants fit me well, didn't gape at the waist, and were comfortable in the crotch while sitting. They moved with me while walking and climbing over rocks, kept me dry and warm (without getting overheated), and cleaned up easily afterward. I really like the leg design so that you can remove or put the bottom of the legs back on over shoes, though I did not personally use this feature. The bad: The zipper seams on the thighs really bothered me. This was my first pair of convertible pants, and it's entirely possible that I will just never be comfortable in them regardless of brand or zipper position. The height of the zipper seam also means there are no true cargo pockets. The cell phone pocket on the one side is not deep enough for an iPhone 6, so I walked around with the pocket unzipped any my phone sticking out. Workable, but not what I hoped for.Love these. Unlike most zip-off leg pants, they have zippers at the ankles to get over your hiking boots. Duh! This is the main feature I was seeking and had a difficult time finding. Pants fit as I expected, and the fabric is wonderful. Very practical design and they work great. I wore them for four days of hiking in Glacier National Park, and they had everything I needed. My daughter used these on a trip to Arizona and loved them. I would love to purchase her another pair before she travels to Iceland next yearFlattering and comfortable, and best of all: no swishy noise. Stays looking good through several hikes before washing.Lightweight, nice cool color. Great for fly fishing. Love the zip offThese pants are a favorite of mine. I'm 5'8", 130 lb, and I purchased size 6. They were perfect, not too baggy or tight. I'd buy them again.
