Love the chocolate brown color, heavy-duty canvas, dual layer, re-I forced knees, and all the pockets!!!! Wish they made a navy color!UPDATE3/07/2021I'm sad to report that after less than 6 months of light wear - I work 3-4 days/week, rotate my 3 pairs of utility pants, and really don't do hard physical work that demands much of my pants - I noticed a hole by the zipper in one pair of my pants. I noticed it early in the day and it seemed to get bigger quickly, as I was getting up and down from the ground a lot. As you'll read in my original review, these pants are not snug on me (the pair that I mentioned were "more snug" are no longer that way - both because I predictably dropped weight and because the pants stretch), and the hole didn't develop in a "high wear" area (thighs, knees, etc.). It happened right outside the zipper line near the rise of the pant leg. I am really disappointed. I paid $89 x 2 for these pants, thinking that they would (and should) out-perform any pair of jeans in my wardrobe. I get more life out of American Eagle jeans that I buy on sale with lots of coupon codes. For that matter, the $29 Dickie's I mentioned in my original review are holding up very well. All that said, I'm trying to figure out how to contact the manufacturer about their 1 year warranty. Will try to update with any resolution.10/15/2020First - these are solidly constructed pants. Heavyweight, tight seams, and durable hardware (as far as I can tell). However, the fit seems to be a consistently reviewed as inconsistent. When I read the reviews, "order a size up" seemed to be a clear message. I normally wear a size 2 or 4. Because I didn't want to go through the hassle of taking a chance and the size I ordered not fitting, I decided to order up and ordered a 4 and a 6. They both fit. The 4 was a more "relaxed" fit while the 4 more snug, but both fine. My concern about the snug 4 was that they might be more difficult to work in, so I decided to give the 6's a workout first. I should have started with the 4s. I didn't work very hard and didn't do a lot of bending, squatting, stooping, or sitting, but they still became baggy and loose fitting in less than 3 hours. I was wearing a belt, but I still felt like I needed to pull my pants up.I intended to return one pair - and fully anticipated it would be the size 4 based on the reviews - but it looks like I'll be keeping both. Unfortunately for me, I can't even "save them for my winter weight" because I tend to drop weight in winter instead of gain. This was an expensive lesson for my first pair of utility pants. I love that there is a company that's making workwear designed by and for women, but I guess I expected that the stiffness of the canvas would prevent the stretch factor that's typical in jeans, etc.Incidentally, I also purchased a pair of Dickies women's pants for 1/3 the price (size 2). They fit about the same, though the fabric is not as substantial as the Dovetail. The Dickie's will probably be a bit more comfortable in the warmer weather since they aren't as thick, but I'll probably support Dovetail out of principle :). I would like to see more colors offered by Dovetail - a khaki or a lighter gray. I've started my own company and am thinking about uniforms, and it's hard to find a reasonably dark color (to hide dirt) that works well with the already dark-colored pants.I LOVE these pants. I purchased a few different styles and one other brand of work pants and honestly I love every one of them, but out of all of them, these are my absolute favorites. They are comfortable and flattering as well. They cover my rear yet aren’t real high-waisted. They are very easy to move in. I’ve gotten so many compliments on these pants that I no longer wear them JUST for work. There is a huge difference between the 30 length (which is a little short on me) and the 32 length (which is a little long on me). I’m 5’5” for reference. A 31 would be perfect if they made them but they don’t. I thought maybe the 32 length would shrink up a bit but can’t really see that they have. Nevertheless I’m fine with wearing either pair; I just wear different boots/shoes with each to adjust to the length accordingly. I love the writing inside the zipper that says Get Dirty! Would like to see Dovetail write that down the sides of the pants where others can see it rather than have it hidden where I’m the only one who sees it! Great pants. They are not too lightweight and not too heavy weight. Just perfect. Will buy more. Excellent price for what you are getting. Highly recommend. The pants it self was great I love the type and texture it would have been great for work I love all the pockets but it didn’t fit true to size I got a 8/32. I normally buy men’s pants for work so I use a 32,32 I figure the 8/32 would fit but it wouldn’t close on meI've worn these three times now, and while I normally love pockets, the pockets on these are weird and make the pants feel really bulky. There's one in the front that rubs into my groin all weird and the ones on the side near where your butt ends is equally as weird and bulky. When I sit down the front pockets bunch up my waist leaving a weird pooch around my hips. I normally wear a size 2 regular in carhartts so I picked a 4 in these pants. They fit, but they stretch out over the day so I wear a belt with them. Unfortunately I can't return them because I've been trying to get used to them and at this point they've been washed. I was hoping that by breaking them in a bit they'd be more comfortable to wear. It just feels like something is bunched up in my groin all day long and I can't for the life of me figure out what use that front pocket could be for. I'm also a 31" inseam so I picked the 32" which feel too long. I really wanted to love these pants and stick it to the Carhartt brand because their pants look like crap after you've washed them a few times. I just wanted a normal pair of utility pants that fit a woman's body instead of two tubes that cascaded from the butt area to the ground. They give shape but if you have issues wearing bulky, heavy, high waisted pants these probably aren't for you. I really wish I could return these because for the price I'm just not in love. When i got the sizing figured out, i ordered a size 12. I'm 5'10" tall and the 32 inseam was too short so i ordered the longer inseam. I hit the jackpot. The material is different from carhartt. I do like the material that its made out of but need to get used to it. I haven't walked through brush or brambles at all with these pants but will put them to the test when the snow melts.I like where the pants fit at the waist. I haven't used a belt with these but i would say that I have athletic curves, meaning strong legs and not skinny. Overall. I'm glad i gave them a try.Love the look, the pockets, the reinforced knees, the thickness...but now I regret not buying the 30" and a size up to allow for the shrinking that happens each time in the wash. I've had these not quite a year and now I can't put them on. Sadness. I will buy another pair eventually in a larger, longer size next time.
